EJB 3 comments

  • It's excellent. But we must consider about the object pooling.
  • Only suggestion is to update XML files when refactoring. For example, when moving classes, xml files are not update to reflect correct path.
  • Yes it is
  • I have many problem with deploying
  • Still seems rough.
  • I encountered problems trying to use Oracle sequences and the SequenceGenerator annotation.
  • Yet!
  • I haven't used yet.
  • Improved error checking for annotations like 1:1 1:n, n:m relations.
  • Most of the issues that being raised is new features requested. Netbeans 5.5 is in excelent shape to be released.
  • What I used (not much) worked in the latest release.
  • EJB 3 support for JBoss does not generate correct jindi names. Session beans generated from entity beans does not generate jindi names.
  • Using the "Create entity bean from database" has very bad results when used on a production Oracle Applications database with all modules installed. There are too many views and tables for the IDE to try and load all this information ahead of time. The ide just never returns when it tries to load all this information. It'd be nice to be able to type in a view or table name instead of loading it. Also, Oracle never actually created primary keys on the tables, they use unique indexes on the Oracle apps tables. This renders the create entity from db worthless. But we still love it even manually.
