Matisse comments

  • Matisse is ready to go
  • It's a big step forward, but it needs refinement. It needs to be more intuitive, and needs more features (as I've understood, there are some new features in plans)
  • Looks very good
  • Shoud be good in next version, a api to use freedesign to develop databinding apps, like extend jtable to use some databing to fetch data from DB.
  • The main problem that i have is no 2 way reverse engineering, and other minor problems... importing older forms, nothing that gets in the way.
  • I am really enjoying working with this tool, I found earlier versions jerky and frustrating, RC1 is very polished.
  • We definitely plan to use it, but just haven't found the time to evaluate it yet.
  • The group layout used with free design can't yet handle components that provide their own spacing border. GroupLayout need improvement that Matisse can then take advantage of.
  • I do use it, but not extensively.
  • Hope to see same effort for swing Data binding + databinding components
  • One my wishlist for next release: Databinding!
  • Few exceptions and missbehaviours
  • It should be enhanced so that it is easy to control how components will be layed out when the main widget is resized.
  • It's easy to use. All what I need
  • I haven't seen the random weird exceptions in RC2 that I did before, but am not sure they're all fixed. The docs (help/tutorials) really need to be beefed up; the problems I'm having with layout may be user errors.
  • The greatest GUI Builder to grace the java world, keep up the good work as progression is a must to stay on top of the competition
  • Sometimes I can get it in an "insane" state.
  • It seems much faster than when this beta period first began. In addition it seems to update itself as widgets are moved very smoothly.
  • Overall,it works very well.
  • Sometimes, his behaviour is very frustrating. But until now, I have not yet success to have a exception. Before RC1, it was weekly (but always impossible to give steps to reproduce)
  • It just needs the kinks worked out of it. Something like being able to tell the IDE to no longer rearrange certain form items once I get them laid out. Sometimes items get added to and removed from groups because of something I do to other components, and sometimes that is great and other times it's a problem when it does that.
  • After heavy modyfying of form it happens that form is not compiling.
